  • Parents, please remember to encourage your children to keep their agenda books updated. This is also an excellent way to communicate with the teachers.
  • Daily study time is essential. A ten-minute review/study time each day is quite beneficial in helping to remember skills taught.
  • Please check the posted grades regularly . Teachers can be reached by email or contacted through the GMS office if there are questions/concerns.
  • Our team’s Fall Festival was awesome! We hope to have another incentive activity that will be just as fun and exciting.
  • Thanks for all your support, Parents!

Carbage’s Language Arts Classes, November 26-30, 2007

All classes are working on grammar skills for the entire week. We are identifying the following types of verbs:

1. Linking Verbs

2. Helping Verbs

Please watch for homework assignments each night because we will complete several practice exercises to ensure mastery of all skills.  These are review skills, so the students should do very well on all assignments.

Students will also write a five-seven paragraph essay on a given topic. A prompt will be assigned, and students will be required to write for 35 minutes.

We will be out of the classroom on Friday as we take our Thinklink tests in the writing lab.

Team 8-C is having an incentive party on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. This will be our Fall Festival. We will have a pizza lunch, snacks, and a movie. The students must earn the opportunity to attend the festival. Those students who do not earn the privilege to attend will have a regular work day. Hopefully, all students will comply with all rules/ procedures and get the opportunity to participate.

Eighth grade is encouraged to pay $10.00 to cover the holiday party and the end-of the-year picnic. The funds are due by November 20, 2007.

Open House, spaghetti supper, Book Fair, and home basketball game all happen on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007! What an exciting day this will be!

Have a splendid week!

The students are all working towards an incentive project. We will be having a Fall Festival on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007! There will be movies, games, fun activities, snacks and a pizza lunch. Students must earn the privilege to attend by following all established  rules and procedures, as well as by being up to date/current on all assignments. The cost is $6.00 per person and it is due by Wednesday, November 7,2007. We are all looking forward to a day of fun and excitement!

Parents, please help 8-C teachers to encourage all the students on our team to remain focused, especially as the holiday seasons approach. We really want to spend our time on teaching required skills rather than correcting procedural violations. Thanks for all your support and help!
