Carbage’s Language Arts Classes, October 22-26, 2007
The students are really enjoying the novel that we are reading in class (The Pigman). We are almost finished with the book, yet we have many more activities to complete.
The students will create a Pigman portfolio on Monday.
We will finish reading the entire book this week. We will continue working on skills and vocabulary pertaining to the novel. Our main focus for the week will be comprehension, inferences, drawing conclusions, locating main ideas, and cause-effect relationships.
The students will write a five paragraph essay on a given topic. They will write an introductory paragraph, three supporting details paragraphs, and a summary paragraph.
The students in eighth grade will take a test on 10-24-07. The test is called Explore.
