SPI: 8.1.08 Use active comprehension strategies to derive meaning while reading and check for understanding after reading
Our focus this week is reading comprehension. We will read selections taken from various stories and check for comprehension skills after reading and discussing. We will continue to become proficient at identifying cause-effect relationships.
Each class will be introduced to a novel entitled Pigman. We will begin reading this novel in class, though there will be some out of class assignments, also.
Students, please study the vocabulary from” The Circuit” and be able to apply these words to your everyday conversations. Read the story carefully and be prepared to participate in the class discussion on Monday.
Tuesday-Thursday will be spent on cause and effect.
We will begin our novel on Friday of this week! Have a wonderful week and remember to study/review each night.
